Service Science

The Service Science research group focuses on the development, provision and continuous improvement of services for SMEs and service ecosystems.

    The courses offered by the research group include IT service management, knowledge management, service science and methods for developing service innovations. The aim of the lectures is to enable students to develop, plan, implement, operate and continuously improve new business models for companies through service innovations. In addition to modeling and management topics, this also includes in-depth knowledge in the field of creative and knowledge work.

    The research group cooperates in the area of service research with the Cracow University of Economics, the Technical University of Munich and the University of Vienna. As partners for innovation transfer, there is close cooperation with MFG-Baden-Württemberg, Baden Württemberg Connected (BWCON) and the Cyberforum Karlsruhe.

    As part of joint research and practical projects, the Group cooperates very closely with service providers for SMEs such as Bechtle AG and Fujitsu TDS GmbH, as well as with manufacturing SMEs such as Pollrich DLK GmbH. In the past, research has also been carried out with internal IT service providers such as IT der Lidl Stiftung & Co. KG , or Siller IT-Service GmbH. On the software side, there have been very close cooperations with the BOC Group GmbH and CAS Software AG for years.
